Snickers, which has nothing to do with the chocolate bar, invented workwear as we now know it. The Swedish electrician who first designed the clothing and made it in his spare bedroom went onto build a global brand. We have met him several times and apart from being driven and very clever he is also hilarious. How else do you come up with the idea of sowing pockets on the outside of trousers.
They say imitation is flattery but he must have cursed the way that every company copied his designs. Snickers grew the market for workwear but not many companies, if any, produce anything like the quality of this brand. Snickers is all about attention to detail and once you have worn Snickers you get a real understanding of what they are about. There is a feel good factor operating here and if you can feel good at work then that is a fair proportion of your day sorted.
Can Snickers continue to be the world leader and hold their price in the face of so many cheap copies? It won’t be for everybody and that is really the point.
