Hitachi is another giant Japanese electronics company with little more than a toe hold in the UK power tool market. They presumably have bigger fish to fry. It would appear that they are unwilling to spend the kind of money on marketing that would be needed to put them up their with the major brands so they are happy to play the longer game and build the brand at a slower pace.

They recently bought the German company Metabo so perhaps they are revving up their motors for some  interesting activity. We were told they wanted to acquire better distribution in some European countries where Metabo is strong  However Hitachi also seem to be lining up some world beating ideas and have some surprises up their Kimono sleeves. We are sworn to secrecy for now  but watch this space!
