World’s first high visibility wellingtons launched at Safety & Health Expo

The simplest ideas can be the best. BrightBoot has launched a unique range of high-vis wellingtons at this year’s Safety & Health Expo 2018. Skill Builder Editor Georgina Bisby visited the event to find out more about the latest in safety footwear.

Brightboot says it has delivered a world first by combining safety footwear protection with compliant high visibility performance – a simple idea which has attracted interest from a huge range of industries.

Brightboots conform to the EN ISO 20345:2011 S5 HRO CI SRA footwear safety standard, whilst the neoprene upper and 3M retroreflective elements comply to EN ISO 20471:2013 high visibility standard. Guaranteed 100% waterproof. Abrasion resistant outsoles, a 100% metal free construction, composite protective toe cap, anti-bacterial insole, kick off spur and an anti clog self cleaning cleated outsole which helps spit out any debris as you walk.

The largest number of fatalities/serious injuries in the workplace, occur in the construction, manufacturing, agricultural and waste recycling industries. The most common cause of injury is being hit by a moving vehicle, therefore anything that helps to increase visibility in the workplace, merits implementation.

The boots will be available from October 2018.
